Attendees at the Community Safety Meeting decided to have the local priority in the town centre due to the anticipated seasonal increase in crime and ASB.
Additional patrols have taken place in Athersley North, and the number of incidents and crimes reported throughout November 2016 have decreased.
Additional patrols took place to deter ASB however the area in general was quiet. Friday evenings were the busiest, due to a roller-blading event which is attracting youths in larger numbers than usual.
Numerous incidents have been reported regarding nuisance youths using the park area off Doncaster Road, Measbrough Dyke. PCSOs will conduct a number of speed gun checks to ascertain problematic times and days. We also have a number of Special Constables who will follow this up with enforcement work.
Additional patrols will take place to identify youths causing a nuisance. Parents will be made aware of youths mis-behaving, and appropriate action will be taken against repeat offenders.
