Doncaster

Crime in Doncaster is down 10 per cent.

In the twelve months up to March 2008 burglary dropped to its lowest level in six years and detection increased by 22 per cent.

In the same period theft from a person fell by 24 per cent and criminal damage by more than 14 per cent.

Working towards keeping crime down is the borough’s 512 officers and 115 members of support staff.

Chief Superintendent Bob Sanderson, policing head for the district, is committed to tackling the things that matter most to the public.

To do this dedicated safer neighbourhood teams have been set up to tackle issues that affect people’s day-to-day lives, like criminal damage and nuisance behaviour.

The teams include police officers, special constables and local authority wardens making them multi-agency crimebusters.
