I contacted our Custody Handling System Administrator for assistance with Drink Driving data. She advised she searched CHS for the following offences during the period 01.06.2016 – 30.06.2017:

  • ATTEMPT TO DRIVE MOTOR VEHICLE - ALCOHOL LEVEL ABOVE LIMIT
  • DRIVE MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN ALCOHOL LEVEL ABOVE LIMIT
  • IN CHARGE OF MOTOR VEHICLE - ALCOHOL LEVEL ABOVE LIMIT

The search returned 1818 Custody Reference Numbers

 

She carried out a further search of the CHS for the following Drug Driving data:

  • ATTEMPT TO DRIVE A MOTOR VEHICLE WITH A PROPORTION OF A SPECIFIED CONTROLLED DRUG ABOVE THE SPECIFIED LIMIT
  • DRIVE A VEHICLE WHILST DRUNK / UNDER INFLUENCE OF DRINK / DRUGS / INTOXICATING SUBSTANCE DRIVE A VEHICLE WHILST UNFIT THROUGH DRUGS
  • DRIVE MOTOR VEHICLE WITH A PROPORTION OF A SPECIFIED CONTROLLED DRUG ABOVE THE SPECIFIED LIMIT
  • DRUNK / UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF AN INTOXICATING SUBSTANCE / DRUGS WHILST DRIVING A VEHICLE

The search returned 673 Custody Reference Numbers during the period specified

 

 

I then approached our Central Ticket Office for data regarding Speeding Violation for the period 01 July 2016 to 30 June 2017:

With regard to value of fines, we do not hold this information.  The police only receive costs to enforce the speed limit.   Fines from Conditional Offers are paid direct to HM Treasury and some offences are dealt with at Court where a fine may be imposed, is again is paid directly to HM Treasury. Some offences within certain thresholds are eligible for the offer of a speed awareness course. If such an offer is accepted, individuals will be required to pay a course fee to a service supplier.

 

We do not hold parking violation data – this is enforced by Local Authorities.

 

No insurance violations: All offences committed will be issued with a fine/ticket.  The following figures are held for 01 July 2016 to 30 June 2017.
