Police in Sheffield are working with the community after receiving reports of two incidents where a man indecently exposed himself.

It was reported that at around 3.30pm yesterday (Thursday 7 January), a man exposed himself on Batemoor Road.

Around 10 minutes later, it was reported that a man matching the same description exposed himself in the underpass on Chesterfield Road South between Batemoor and Low Edges.

Today (Friday 8 January), officers have increased patrols around Meadowhead School on Dyche Lane and are working with both the school and wider community.

Inspector Ian Stubbs, from the Sheffield South West Local Police Team said: “South Yorkshire Police takes this kind of behaviour extremely seriously and I can reassure parents and residents that our officers are in the area and working hard to identify this man.

“We are reviewing CCTV and talking to people in the community to gather information.

“We are following a number of positive lines of enquiry and continue to work with the school to reassure parents and raise awareness.

"If you see anyone acting suspiciously or if you have any information about the incidents please contact 101 quoting incident number 624 of January 7 2016.”

Insp Stubbs added: “We are aware that photos are being circulated on social media and would advise members of the public to contact police directly with any information they have as this could compromise an investigation.”
