Police in Doncaster are working in partnership with local agencies to tackle criminality and community issues in and around Mexborough.
Through an increased high profile presence in the area, officers and partner agencies have been conducting patrols, engaging with members with of the public and addressing local issues. The aim of this continued activity is to improve safety and create stronger links with local community groups.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Wilson, who is overseeing this partnership activity said: “We are working together with our partners to improve the area, drive out criminality and address anti-social behaviour in order to keep the local community safe.
“The purpose of this action is not only about arresting criminals but also about meeting the public and providing a visible reassurance through policing the area in an organised and planned way with various agencies.
“This cohesive activity includes working with Trading Standards, Housing Authorities, Roads Policing Specialist and the Food Hygiene Agency. The mounted section have also been conducting high visibility engagement patrols as part of this work.
“Our priority is ensuring everyone feels safe within Doncaster and I hope by highlighting the action we are taking, we can work effectively with our partners to achieve this.
