Five people have appeared in court charged with human trafficking offences after a number of warrants were executed across the city.
Nicolae Ionita, 24, Razvan Tanasa, 30, Claudia Ionita, 29, all of Leppings Lane, Sheffield, Sorina Cretu, 22, of Attercliffe Road, Sheffield and Shane Booth, 27, of Henderson Place, Rotherham, have all been charged with human trafficking under Section 2 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
They have been bailed to appear before Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday 20 December.
On Thursday 30 November, three warrants were carried out across Sheffield in relation to possible human trafficking. The warrants were carried out at properties in Leppings Lane in Hillsborough, Henderson Place in Canklow Road, Rotherham and Pandora’s Massage Parlour, Sheffield.
A closure notice was subsequently served on Pandora’s Massage Parlour, Attercliffe Road, under Section 136B of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
The premise will remain closed until a court hearing on Friday 8 December when officers will apply for the property to be closed for three months.
