Motorbike rider seriously injured in Rotherham collision

Police are asking witnesses to come forward after a motorbike rider was left seriously injured in a collision in Rotherham yesterday afternoon, (Friday 14 July). 
Just before 1.25pm, emergency services were called to Moorgate Road, after it was reported that a black Peugeot 206CC, travelling towards Rotherham District General Hospital, was involved in a collision with a blue and white Suzuki GSXR motorbike, travelling in the opposite direction.
The collision happened outside of the Vets4Pets and Tesco car park. 
The rider of the motorbike, a 61-year-old man, suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision. He currently remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
