About Lauren

Lauren began her policing career in 1998, joining Humberside Police where she worked in a variety of roles.

Throughout her service, Lauren has undertaken both uniformed and detective roles, working in a number of areas including neighbourhood policing, major crime, protecting vulnerable people and more.

Lauren joined SYP in 2017 as Assistant Chief Constable. She is currently an accredited Firearms and Public Order Strategic Commander for the force.

Holding responsibility for the Crime portfolio within SYP, Lauren oversees Crime, Counter-Terrorism and Protecting Vulnerable People (PVP) teams and departments.  Prior to this, as ACC Lauren also led on Business Change and Innovation and Contact Management programmes for the force, overseeing the implementation of SmartContact.

Nationally, since 2017 Lauren has been leading on the Problem Solving and Demand Reduction programme and is now the Chair of the College of Policing Guideline Committee on Problem Solving.

Lauren holds a BA (Hons) in Communication Studies with Community and Race Relations, and an MSc in Police Leadership and Management Studies.

Lauren is married and has one teenager and two dogs.
