Serious collision on M1 southbound – did you see what happened?

Officers are appealing for witnesses following a two car collision on the M1 over the weekend.

At around 5.25pm on Saturday 30 March, it was reported that a black Mercedes CLS250, travelling southbound along the M1 between junction 37-36, was in collision with a grey Mercedes CLA220, travelling in the same direction.

The black Mercedes is then said to have hit a bridge on the carriageway before coming to a stop. A 54-year-old man driving the car was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He currently remains in a serious but stable condition.

A 41-year-old man driving the grey Mercedes also suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
