Did you witness assault on Buchanan Road?

Police are appealing for witnesses to the reported assault of a vulnerable man in the Buchanan Road area of Sheffield last month.

At around 9.30pm on Thursday 10 January, it is reported that a 26-year-old man and his mother left the Chaucer Road Asda supermarket and were followed by a group of youths.

The group reportedly shouted abusive language at the pair, following them to Buchanan Road.

The group are then understood to have assaulted the 26-year-old man, with one boy punching the man in the face causing serious injuries.

The boy is believed to be around 15-years-old.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the group in the local area that evening, or who witnessed the assault.
