A 35-year-old man will appear before court today (Friday 20 April) charged with a string of burglary offences.
Officers from Barnsley’s Tasking Team arrested Lee Martin Walshaw, of Rebecca Row, Barnsley, on Wednesday 18 April, in connection to a number of burglaries in the town centre.
He was later charged with four counts of burglary. The charges relate to three incidents between 11 – 15 April, when Papa Johns, Upper New Street, was broken into and cash stolen on two occasions.
The fourth charge relates to an incident between 15-16 April, when Berry’s Opticians, Market Street, was broken into and two laptops stolen.
Walshaw is remanded into custody to appear before Sheffield Magistrate’s Court today.
