Further arrests in Rotherham investigation

Officers investigating an assault in which a man sustained slash wounds in Rotherham have this morning arrested two men in connection with the investigation.

The men, aged 23 and 41, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and currently remain in police custody.

At around noon on Sunday 22 April, it was reported that a 31-year-old man had been found seriously injured outside a property on St Mary’s View in Greasbrough.

The man was taken to hospital with serious slash wounds to his neck and left arm.

He remains in hospital in a stable condition.

An investigation is currently ongoing into the incident and officers are appealing for witnesses and information from anyone who may have been in the area at the time.

Two men, a 39-year-old and a 51-year-old, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder have been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
