Increased profile police presence on anniversary of Sheffield murder

As today marks four-weeks since Jarvin Blake was fatally stabbed in Sheffield, there will be a high visibility police presence throughout the day in the Burngreave and Pitsmoor areas, as officers appeal to the local communities for information into his murder.

Twenty-two-year-old Jarvin was fatally stabbed on Catherine Street, at the junction with Brackley Street, in Burngreave, on Thursday, 8 March, shortly after 3pm.

Officers today will be in handing out appeal posters and leaflets as pictured below, holding drop in events and speaking to the local communities, encouraging people to please to come forward if they have any information or may have been a witness.

Leading the investigation, DCI Steve Handley, the Senior Investigating Officer, is also urging anyone who may have been passing through the area to cast their minds back to that afternoon and report anything they may have seen to police. Watch him on the video below.
