Over the last couple of weeks, South Yorkshire Police has been supporting the Scams Awareness 2019 campaign, which has aimed to encourage people to 'stop, report and talk' when they see a scam.
As the campaign draws to a close today, we are asking people to become a 'Friend Against Scams'.
Friends Against Scams is a National Trading Standards scams team initiative, which aims to protect and prevent people from becoming victims of scams.
SYP Fraud Protect Officer Andy Foster said: "If you would like to be a 'Friend', all you need to do is complete a short awareness session.
"After this session you will be asked to start taking action to take a stand against scams. This could be by talking to your neighbours, friends or family about scams or writing to your local MP asking them to promote scams awareness.
"It's a simple but effective way to spread the word about scams and help protect people in your community."
