Two men have been sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court this week (12 September) after pleading guilty to the production of cannabis in the city.

Fation Vukaj, 32, of Duke Street has been sentenced to two years in prison and Bladar Lleshi, 18, of no fixed abode, has received an 18 month sentence to be served at a Young Offenders Institute.

On 1 August, officers from our Manor and Arbourthorne Neighbourhood Team carried out a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a property on Duke Street in Sheffield.

PC Kevin Sibley, investigating, said: “On entering the house, we discovered 121 cannabis plants being grown in the basement, the bedrooms and the attic. They also found a significant amount of plants in different stages of processing throughout the property.

“Vukaj was found in one of the bedrooms whilst Lleshi was discovered trying to escape through the loft, both were swiftly arrested.

“We are pleased with the sentences they have received and it should act as a deterrent to those involved in the production of drugs in our city.”
