Appeal for witnesses after 13-year-old assaulted in Rotherham

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 13-year-old boy was assaulted in Rotherham.
It is reported that at around 4.30pm on Friday (17 December) the boy was playing football with two friends at Rotherham Football Centre on Chesterfield Road.
The victim was approached by another group of boys, who demanded he hand over his bag. When he refused, he was assaulted by the group.
It is reported the group fled the scene with the victim’s black Valentino bag containing his bank cards and cash.
The victim sustained a swollen eye and broken tooth as a result of the incident.
