Police in Darfield are appealing for information after reports that a swan was shot

Police received a report from a member of the public that at around 4:10pm on Sunday 27 June two boys were witnessed shooting a swan with an air rifle on the River Dearne, close to Middlewood Park.
The boys, who are described as approximately 15-years-old, fled the scene in the direction of Doncaster Road.
Officers attended the scene and conducted a search for the boys, and attempted to locate the wounded swan to no gain. Enquiries are ongoing to locate those responsible.
Officers are now asking for any information that might help them in their investigation. Were you in the area at the time? Do you know who might be responsible.
