Man dies after collision in Grimethorpe

Our officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a man sadly died following a collision in Grimethorpe.

At 5:55pm on Sunday 2 May, police attempted to pull over a car in the Brierley area of Barnsley when it failed to stop for officers.

The car, a black Peugeot, was pursued by police towards Park Road.

At the junction of Park Road and Brierley Road the Peugeot was involved in a collision with a second car, a silver Ford.

The four occupants of the Ford suffered minor injuries in the collision.

The front seat passenger of the Peugeot, 51-year-old Tze Chun Tsang, suffered life-threatening injuries and sadly died in hospital at the weekend.

Paying tribute, his family said: “It is with deep sadness we announce the death of a much loved son, dad and brother.

“Father of three, Tze Chun Tsang died in hospital on Saturday 8 May during the early hours.

“We would like to thank those who are respecting our privacy during this difficult time”.
