Sheffield officers are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam after a hit-and-run in June which has left a nine-year-old girl in a wheelchair.

At around 8am on Tuesday 29 June, the girl was walking along Stradbroke Road when she was hit by a driver in a blue BMW 4x4. The driver then left the scene without leaving his full details. Since the collision, the girl has had multiple surgeries and skin grafts and is currently in a wheelchair.

PC Eve Bailey, investigating, said: “I am aware that this incident happened almost four months ago, and in this team we have continued to try and trace the driver involved in this incident.

“He did leave a business card at the scene, but the details on there could not be corroborated, and we are now asking for your help to trace him and the blue BMW. We know that many people stopped to help that morning so we want to hear from anyone who we haven’t spoken to yet, or who captured the reg of the vehicle.

“Any information could greatly assist our investigation.”
