Our Fraud Protect Officer Andy Foster is back on the road delivering fraud information and advice to people in our communities.

Andy's role involves reaching out to communities across South Yorkshire to provide advice on how to stay safe and avoid becoming a victim of fraud.

During Covid, much of this work - and his work in supporting high risk vulnerable victims - had to move online or be put on hold. But as restrictions ease, Andy has been able to get out and about to deliver more of his work in person again.

Last week, Andy visited the Chapeltown Probus Club and gave a fraud awareness presentation to 34 members.

Andy said: "I was first contacted by the probus club a year ago requesting a visit, but presentations had to be cancelled twice due to the ongoing pandemic and the fact that many members aren't online.

"Last week I was delighted to be able to reach out once again and spread the word about how to stay safe from fraud, which sadly hasn't gone away during the pandemic. Indeed, many criminals have exploited vulnerable people during the pandemic, at a time when they have been particularly concerned about their financial situation, their health and the state of the economy.

"It's important we raise awareness far and wide about the many ways you can avoid becoming a victim of these cruel fraudsters."
