Witnesses sought to Doncaster assault- did you see anything?

Officers investigating a reported assault in the Hyde Park area of Doncaster are appealing for information and witnesses.

At around 5.30pm on Wednesday 28 March officers received reports a dark coloured car had collided with a 31-year-old man on Chequer Road at the junction with Childers Street.

The driver of the car then assaulted the man before making off.

The 31-year-old sustained minor injuries to his face in the incident.

Detective Constable Della O’Horo who is leading the investigation said: “An investigation is currently ongoing and we have been working to gather statements and review CCTV footage from the area.

“We are now appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, or saw a dark coloured car, to please report it.

“Thankfully the 31-year-old was not seriously injured in the incident, however he has been left incredibly shaken up by what has happened.

“Our priority remains keeping members of our public safe and I would urge anyone with information to please contact police.”
