Detectives are appealing for information after a blue Mercedes 'A' Class car was in collision with two pedestrians in Sheffield this morning, Thursday 19 July.

Officers responded to a report of a road traffic collision in Headford Street just after midnight. A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. His condition is described as serious but stable. A second pedestrian, a 24-year-old man, received medicalattention for minor injuries.

Officers arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.
