Ecclesfield officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an incident in which two teenagers were injured.

At around 8.30pm on Friday 22 June, students thought to be from Ecclesfield Secondary School gathered on Westwood Country Park on Greaves Lane, celebrating the completion of their GCSEs.

It is then reported that an altercation broke out between around ten girls, all aged between 16-17. Two girls, both aged 15, suffered cuts, scratches, bruises and swelling to the head and face as a result of the incident.

PC Chris Shepherd, investigating the incident, said: “Since this was reported to us, we have worked closely with the school to identify a number of girls thought to have been involved.

“I am however, still looking to identify a number of girls involved and also speak to people who were in the area at that time and who saw what happened. I’d also ask any parents who think their child may have been involved or know something about the incident to contact either police or the school.

“If you can help, please get in touch with us via 101 quoting incident number 1012 of 22 June 2018.”
