Life threatening injuries after collision in Barnsley

An early morning collision in the Goldthorpe area of Barnsley has resulted in a 22-year-old man suffering life-threatening injuries after the car he was travelling in crashed into a garden wall.

At around 1.55am this morning (Friday, 23 March) the 22-year-old was driving a black Seat Ibiza along Highgate Lane, heading towards Goldthorpe, when for reasons not yet known, the vehicle left the road just after the junction of West View Crescent.

The car was then in collision with the garden wall of a property on Highgate Lane, and in a further collision with a parked Ford Transit van before coming to a stop.

The 22-year-old driver was taken to the hospital where his condition is described as life-threatening.
