Witnesses sought to Sheffield armed robbery

Detectives investigating a reported armed robbery at the Co-op convenience store in the Chapeltown area of Sheffield are appealing for information and witnesses.

At around 8.15pm on Sunday 18 February it was reported two men armed with a knife and blade had entered the store on Bevan Way, Chapeltown.

The men, who had balaclavas covering their faces, made threats towards members of staff and forced them to open the store safe. A quantity of cash was stolen in the incident.

An investigation is currently ongoing and offices have been working to review CCTV, identify possible forensic opportunities and make enquiries in the area.

Detectives are now appealing for information and witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of incident to please report it. Any piece of information even if you believe it to be irrelevant could be useful in the investigation.
