Detectives investigating an incident in which a 61-year-old man was assaulted are appealing for witnesses.

At around 11.30pm on Sunday 4 November, three men have gone into the home of the victim, on Station Road, Dunscroft, and placed tie wraps around his hands before assaulting him.

Detective Constable Caroline Thomas, the investigating officer, said: “The offenders then ransacked the man’s property, stealing cash, jewellery and cigarettes.

“At this time, we don’t have a description of those involved as the victim has understandably been left incredibly traumatised by what happened.

“This was an incredibly violent assault which left the victim with sustained, extensive bruising to his face and body. I’d like to ask anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area that evening to contact us.

“If you can help, please call 101 quoting incident number 17 of 5 November 2018. You can also speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
