Cyclist seriously injured in Barnsley collision

Officers want to speak to anyone who witnessed a collision in the Jump area of Barnsley earlier this morning (Tuesday 23 October).

At around 7.05am, a silver Volkswagen Lupo was travelling along Cemetery Road, on to Roebuck Hill, when it was in collision with a cyclist, travelling from the Dearne Valley Parkway down the hill.

The cyclist, a 58-year-old man, was left seriously injured as a result of the collision and has been taken to hospital where he currently remains in a stable condition.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw what happened, or who may have dashcam footage.
