Man dies in Worsbrough collision

Officers are appealing for information after a fatal collision in Worsbrough yesterday afternoon (12 June). 

At around 4.30pm it is reported that a green Kawasaki ZX 600 bike, was travelling from Mount Vernon Road along Kingwell Road when it lost control and slid across the carriageway, before colliding with a red Citreon C2. 

Emergency services attended, but the motorcyclist, a 60-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. 

His family are being supported by specialist officers. 

A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has since been released under investigation. 

Enquiries are continuing to ascertain the exact circumstances of what happened prior to the collision and officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision.
