Officers are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault outside the Masons Arms pub in Wickersley on Sunday evening (26 May).

At 10:52pm, police were called after a 27-year-old man was reportedly assaulted by two men on Bawtry Road, directly outside the pub. The man suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital.

A 19-year-old man was arrested and has now been bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers are keen to speak to the second man who they believe holds further information. He is believed to have been wearing a grey tracksuit with a hoody up, covering his face.

We’d also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or was in or outside the Masons Arms at around this time.
