Witness appeal following Sheffield shooting

Detectives in Sheffield are appealing for witnesses and CCTV footage following a reported shooting in the Woodhouse area of Sheffield on Friday (5 March).

Police were called to Ashpool Close, Woodhouse at around 10.40pm following reports of a shooting.

On arrival, officers discovered two men with injuries consistent with a shotgun discharge. They were both taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

One of the victims remains in hospital in a stable condition.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Detective Inspector Eleanor Welsh, leading the investigation, said: “I understand how upsetting incidents of this nature are for local communities.

“There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area today as investigations continue, which I hope will provide some reassurance to residents.

“I would urge anyone who may have information about the incident to make contact with officers. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from around the time of the incident.”
