Police seek witnesses to serious assault outside city centre bar

Officers in Sheffield are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a serious assault in the city centre.

In the early hours of Sunday 5 December, it is reported that there was a fight between a group of men at the entrance of Dempseys Bar and Club on Hereford Street.

The victim, a 33-year-old man, was punched in the face so hard that he lost teeth and suffered a serious fracture to his jaw. His injuries have required surgery and medical treatment which is still ongoing.

The incident is reported to have occurred between 12.40am and 1am.

Police have been carrying out extensive enquiries into this incident and are now urging any witnesses, or anyone with information about what happened, to come forward.
