Man charged in connection with Walkley sexual offences

A 27-year-old man has this evening (Friday 24 August) been charged in connection with a number of alleged sexual offences against women in the Walkley area of Sheffield.

Abraham Price, of Mill Lane, Brigg, South Humberside, has been remanded in custody and will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Saturday 25 August).

He is charged with;

  • burglary
  • attempt to cause a person to engage in a sexual act without consent
  • trespass with intent to commit a sexual act
  • inciting a person to commit a sexual act without consent
  • fraud by false representation x2

Police launched an investigation after receiving several reports of sexual offences against elderly women across Walkley. One incident was reported to police on 7 August, a further two reported on 21 August.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Berry who is leading the investigation is appealing for further information about these or similar offences in the area. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 531 of 21 August 2018.

Two other men arrested on Thursday 23 August have been released on bail.
