There are some new faces in Cudworth this week as the area welcomes its new neighbourhood policing team.
Sergeant Rich Wilson, PC Sam Whitehead and PC Clare Sidaway started their new roles based in Cudworth Police Station on Monday 6 August, working alongside six PCSOs who will collectively serve the four wards that make up the Barnsley North East area.
Clare will cover the Cudworth and North East wards with Sam focussing on Royston and Monk Bretton.
The six PCSOs cover the ward areas as follows:
- Cudworth – Clare Peel and Lee Holmes
- North East – Anne-Marie Dickinson and Neil Duggan
- Royston – Angela Pressland
- Monk Bretton – Claire Banks
The NHP team is part of South Yorkshire Police’s continuing commitment to provide a more visible policing presence across the county, a process that started in September 2017.
The team’s presence in the area will increase their integration into the everyday life of the local communities they serve with a focus on tackling local crime and antisocial behaviour issues, local problem solving, crime prevention and protecting vulnerable people from home.
Look out for your neighbourhood cops and PCSOs on their local beats, and feel free to stop them, have a chat and say hi!
