Arrest made in connection to death of Sheffield teenager

Detectives investigating the murder of 15-year-old Samuel Baker in the Lowedges area last month have today made a further arrest in connection to his death.

Samuel was taken to hospital on the evening of Thursday 24 May after he was stabbed on Lowedges Road at around 7.50pm. He died as a result of stab wounds to the chest an hour after arriving at hospital.

A 16-year-old boy from Sheffield has been arrested on suspicion of murder this morning (Friday 29 June), and currently remains in police custody.

One boy, aged 15, has already been charged in connection to the teenagers death and is currently awaiting trial later this year.

Officers remain keen to hear from anyone with information about Samuel’s death and anyone who can help is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 829 of 24 May.
