Sheffield club closed for 24 hours following disorder

A nightclub in Sheffield City Centre has been issued with a closure notice by police today after an incident of disorder in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, 16 June).

Cocoon late bar and nightclub on Rockingham Street, has been issued with the notice to remain closed for 24-hours, after reports of violence at the venue and people being injured.

At around 1am, a number of people became involved in a fight inside the club, which is believed to have resulted in two people suffering injuries that required minor hospital treatment.

Detectives are investigating and would ask anyone who was at the club last night, or who may have witnessed the disorder, to please come forward.
