Third man charged in connection to Rotherham robbery

Detectives investigating an armed robbery at a Rotherham jewellers have charged a third man in connection to the incident.

At around 12.45pm on Monday 30 April, three men carrying weapons entered Diamonds Classic Gold Jewellers, Imperial Buildings, and made threats towards the shopkeeper.

No one was injured in the incident and a large quantity of jewellery was taken.

Declan Taylor, 21, of Walker Road, Kimberworth Park, has been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

A further two men have also been charged in connection to the incident. Shakil Hussain, 26, of Bridge Close, Airmyn, and Lyle Copley, 22, of Cecil Avenue, Doncaster, have both been charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article. Copley is also charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and driving offences.

He has been remanded in to custody to appear before court at a later date.
