UPDATE: Teenage pedestrian seriously injured in a Sheffield collision has sadly died

A 15-year-old boy involved in a collision on Penistone Road in the Hillsborough area has sadly died in hospital.

He was being treated for life-threatening injuries following a collision at around 7.50pm on Saturday (26 May) but passed away on Sunday (27 May).

The boy’s family is being supported by specialist officers and has asked for privacy at this distressing time.

Officers were called to reports that a white Citroen Nemo travelling along the A61 Penistone Road, Sheffield, out of the city, was in collision with a pedestrian at the junction with the McDonalds restaurant.

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who witnessed the collision or has information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number 919 of 26 May 2018.
