Our Sheffield South West Neighbourhood Team have thanked the community after their week of action in Sharrow last week.

Officers focused on enforcement and engagement activity, tackling issues raised by local people.

Sergeant Ross Greenwood said it was a positive week for the team and the public: “I’d like to thank everyone who got involved last week.

“We had some positive conversations with people, from those stopping in the street, to all the young people who got involved with the knife crime and drug awareness sessions at the adventure playground. We also had some great results around issues that local people have raised with us, as you can see from the figures at the end of the week.

“I have only been in the area since January, and I want to build on this week of action. I hope people are reassured by what we’ve been doing and I’d invite the community to speak to us going ahead. I'd also encourage local residents and businesses to sign up to SYP Alerts, which they can do by visiting www.sypalerts.co.uk
