Welcome message from the Neighbourhood Inspector Alec Gibbons

Hello, I am Inspector Alec Gibbons and I’m responsible for neighbourhood policing in the North East of Sheffield. As a team, we are committed to tackling the crime, anti-social behaviour and issues that matter to you and we work hard to make a difference.

My officers are some of the most proactive in Sheffield, hitting the streets every single day to ensure our communities are safe places to live and work. We are proud to have the support of local people and to reduce crime and put long term problem solving in place, we must work together.

Are you worried about something where you live? Do you want to tell us something that might help with our activity? Or would you like us to get involved in a local community group? I want to hear from you, so please get in touch with me, or any officers on the team, we’re here to listen.

We want you to work in partnership to address issues in Page Hall.

We did...

For the last six months the new Page Hall team have been working really hard to up enforcement and engagement activity in their area. Last month we arranged the first multi-agency day of action with our colleagues at Sheffield City Council, which saw resources pooled to tackle ongoing concerns about anti-social behaviour and environmental issues.

We want you to tackle the supply of drugs.

Drug dealing continues to be a concern for people in the Burngreave area, our officers have been carrying out intense disruption activity included stop searches and vehicle checks over the last month. The team have been particularly focusing on tackling the supply of Class A drugs.

You were concerned about speeding traffic at junction of Ecclesfield Road and Butterthwaite Road.

As part of Op Slowdown, members of the team are regularly deploying to this area with a speed detection device to identify those driving over the limit and putting the public at risk. All of those found to be driving over the limit have been contacted directly, and we are also working with the local authority to review the road signage in the area to check it is sufficient. We will continue to deliver Op Slowdown in this area moving forward so that we can build up a full picture of the issue and tackle the issue on an ongoing basis.
