Apply for a firearms licence
On 1 November 2021, new statutory guidance was implemented around firearms licensing. One of the changes to the firearms licensing process was to include a requirement for the applicant to provide factual information to the police about any relevant medical conditions related to their suitability to possess a firearm or shotgun.
When applying for the grant or renewal of a shotgun or firearm certificate, please ensure that this report is provided to our Firearms Licensing team within seven days of your application being submitted.
A form has been provided by the Home Office to assist with this process which can be downloaded here.
We now have a dedicated Firearms Licensing portal for residents of South Yorkshire. Click the link above to register for an account, submit an online application, information on fees and more.
