Superintendent/Detective Superintendent Promotion/Transferee Opportunity

The Chief Constable is seeking to appoint experienced police officers who have the passion, drive and enthusiasm to deliver high levels of performance.  This opportunity is open to exceptional internal/external Chief Inspectors looking for promotion or existing Superintendents wishing to transfer. There are a number of roles across the force including Head of Major Crime (Detective Supt).

It is desirable (not essential) that candidates applying for the Detective Supt (Head of Crime) role are PIP Level 3 accredited ideally with experience in both Protecting Vulnerable People/Public Protection and Serious and Organised Crime.

Candidates applying for the Uniform roles must be a trained Public Order Commander (Bronze or Silver) or a Tactical Firearms Commander.

Successful candidates will be subject to satisfactory conduct/attendance checks and vetting/medical for officers wishing to transfer.

Key Dates

We will be holding a Familiarisation event on the 20th May 2019 09:00- 11:00 at South Yorkshire Police Training Centre, Robert Dyson House, Unit 5, Doncaster Road, Wath Upon Dearne, S63 7EF.  The event will be delivered by DCC Mark Roberts and will include information about the Force, the available roles and the selection process.

Chief Firearms Instructor

Location: Yorkshire & the Humber

Rank: Inspector / Temporary Inspector

Role Purpose: To develop, lead, manage and deliver accredited training to all roles under the firearms training licence within Yorkshire and the Humber Police Forces, ensuring adherence with the AP APP, NPFTC, YatH, NPCC & CoP doctrine, guidance and policies.
